About Fibromyalgia

I haven’t mentioned that the fibromyalgia flare-ups have been really out of control the last few years. I’ve had to take more and more painkillers and muscle relaxers to try to help. Actually part of the reason I believe that fibromyalgia is real and not in a person’s head is that, I don’t pay attention to the weather in the summer so I have no idea when a front’s moving in or anything, I have no fore-knowledge but inevitably I will have the worst flare-up, a horrible pain increase and then bang! there’s a storm moving in. I’m like the old ladies who talk about their bones aching because a storm is moving in. The pain is constant anyway and never stops even for a second, it’s been that way for 19 years, non-stop pain, but a flare-up is like turning the fire on a stove burner from low or medium all the way up to high. (That’s the best analogy I have) Anyway I got an appointment to see a rheumatologist here and hopefully he can help. Family physicians don’t seem to have enough training to deal with this and rheumatology is typically the speciality that treats it. That will be in July so we’ll see.
